In Japan many people think they will be able to speak English fluently.
So Eikaiwa Kyoshitsu and Eikaiwa Gakko, English conversation classes and Schools, are very popular.
Most Japanese have to study English for 6 years in high school, and at least 2 years in college.
But they mainly study translation and grammars to pass entrance examinations.
Even if recent tests use listening tests but they are only 10% of the tests.
Now Japan government pushes elementary school to start teaching English early.
English conversation classes for kids are too much popular.
On the other hand, after graduating from college, many people go to English conversation school.
Both are very expensive.
Native speakers of English can easily earn much money.
This is not normal.

Eikaiwa Kafe, English conversation cafe, are becoming popular.
One of them is open in Takarazuka City.
It is near Sakasegawa station of Hankyu line.
The owner is a friend of mine.
The name is Takarazuka Eikaiwa Jimu, Takarazuka English conversation Gym.
Japanese who want to speak English join the class and enjoy talking in English.
Sometimes native speakers of English come and join them.
So it is inexpensive and very normal.
